First Impressions...

So I decided this morning that if anything says you're crazy excited about something, it's when you're wide awake at 3:45 A.M, a whole 30 minutes before the alarm goes off, after getting only 4 hours of much loved sleep. Especially when the norm is to get up at MAYBE noon. That awareness lasted for me up until we boarded the plane 5 minutes after it should have left and I tried to get as much sleep as you possibly can in an airplane seat. Needless to say that by the time we got to Montana all i wanted to do is get on the bus and take a 2 hour nap. That thought immediately left my mind however as soon as I walked out of the airport. Living in Pittsburgh I'm used to slopes leading to foothills and finally into your standard mountains as you travel East towards the Appalachian Mountains, and I really don't like excessive amounts of flat nothingness. So standing in the flat bottom of the basin where the Bozeman airport lies and staring at huge mountains that appear out of nowhere straight from the flat earth blew my mind. A 360 degree spin confirmed that it was the same on all sides, a huge toothlike wall half obscured by the mist. After two hours of driving, looking out the window as flat farmland turned almost instantly into rocky mountains we were finally here. I get to spend the next several days with some cool people exploring some awesome mountains with a camera, paper and hopefully some bears.
